Photographs of a trainer conducting mock executions of young Australian swimmers at a military-style boot camp prompted outrage from athletic officials on Wednesday.

The images published in local newspapers earlier this week showed a trainer holding an imitation 9 mm pistol to the heads of kneeling swimmers at a camp being held outside Melbourne.
