South Australia

South Australia is a state that lies in the south central area of the country. It borders Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland to the east, Northern Territory to the north and Western Australia to the west. This state is home to some of the best wine country in Australia, which you can visit in the Barossa Valley. Adelaide is the biggest city, as well as the capital, of SA, and Kangaroo Island is just a hop away.

Besides these, South Australia has outback, mountains, valleys and coast. It’s a great combination and makes for some beautiful landscape everyone should check out on their journey down under.

Adelaide

Adelaide is the capital city of South Australia. It may not be as lively as Sydney or Melbourne, but it definitely has a charm of its own. You can head to Adelaide for a truly relaxed city stop before heading off on your tour to the red center, or your hop over to Kangaroo Island.

Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is located off the coast in the Adelaide area. It is a rather large island – 7 times the size of Singapore – and it is populated with heaps of animals, especially kangaroos. Here you can go sandboarding, drink wine, see a platypus and so much more!

Coober Pedy

Coober Pedy is kind of out there, both in location and in concept. This is an opal mining town in the outback of South Australia where people actually live underground. It is a common stop off for those traveling from Adelaide to Alice Springs.
