It is about 500 kilometers from the city of Sydney to the Thredbo or approximately seven hours drive away. Scone & Upper Hunter Horse Festival – Takes place in the Upper Hunter Valley and just four hours away from the city center of Sydney. Scone serves as an adobe to over 65 horse studs producing millions of dollars value of foals each year. Also, Scone possesses the Australian Stock Horse Society headquarters, a racecourse that is equivalent to those in huge cities. For over 25 years, this event continues to attract more and more visitors. They go to this event to take pleasure from the equine country life coupled with rodeos, horse competitions, dog trials, pure bred stud tours and the generosity of the locals when they showcase the craft and arts shows, line dance, balls, parties, discos, fairs and fetes.
