Most homes in the Hunter Valley offer attractive gardens but you will be fascinated by the twenty five hectares of globally applauded plants at the Hunter Valley Gardens, which comprises superb topiary trees and the biggest rose garden in Southern Hemisphere.
Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains is an exciting blend of canyons, tall forests as well as rainforest. Canberra
Go and visit the attractive Canberra on your day trip from Sydney. The country’s capital, a modern city, with impressive buildings still holds quite a rustic appeal thanks to the gardens, lakeside and open areas.
You can visit the billion-dollar worth Parliament House, the New Museum and the Prime Minister’s Lodge. Plus you shouldn’t miss the remarkable Australian War Memorial either.
The capital is located 280 km south-west of Sydney and can be easily reached by train, bus or car. Ideally you should consider spending more than one day here as it takes 4 hours to reach the city by train (or 3 by car).
