Theme Parks Near the Gold Coast
Let’s face it – theme parks are fun! They give us all a big thrill and keep us busy for hours or days even. The Gold Coast is like a theme park mecca since it basically harbors five amazing places to take your friends or family while in the area. And, since Brisbane is just around the corner, they make for a great escape from there as well!
Five theme parks near the Gold Coast:
Dreamworld
Dreamworld is the thrill-ride seeker’s best friend, featuring The Big 6 Thrill Rides. The Giant Drop, in particular, has proved to be one of the world’s tallest and fastest of the rides of its kind. In addition to these thrilling rides and roller coasters, the park holds the Tiger Island attraction where visitors can get up close and personal with some beautiful giant cats. The park contains several themed areas: Ocean Parade, Nick Central, Wiggles World, Gold Rush Country, Rocky Hollow and the Australian Wildlife Experience. Whitewater World
Whitewater World is in the same park as Dreamworld, and it features water slides, wave pools and a special Wiggles section for the little ones to enjoy. One ride, the Blue Ringed Octopus has riders reaching speeds of nearly 50 kilometers per hour while going down head first. The park is open all year around, with heated water in the winter. Warner Brothers Movie World
Warner Brothers Movie World is a Dreamworld alternative featuring rides, shows and special attractions. Rides can take you from calm to thrilling in no time, like when experiencing the Batwing Spaceshot, while the shows will delight and excite patrons with their amazing effects. Wet’n’Wild Water World
Wet’n’Wild Water World is the Whitewater World alternative being located just within the same park area as Warner Brothers Movie World. Numerous water rides, water slides and activities fill the park, including the Kamikaze ride that lets patrons reach speeds of 50 kilometers an hour! Sea World
Sea World in the Gold Coast is full of fun from its shark bay to corkscrew rollercoaster. Sea World is a theme park full of attractions that feature the wonder of the water world, while also providing thrills with its rides and relaxation with its shopping and food.
