Hostels in the Rocks, Sydney
The Rocks is the part of Sydney where Sydney began. The streets are overflowing with the feeling of history, right down to the cobblestones under your feet. The Rocks is a fun place to hang out and grab a beer, and it is also a great place to spend the night since it boasts harbourside views and atmosphere. You really can’t go wrong choosing to venture there in the morning, noon or night!

Hotels and drinking establishments are in numerous form over in the Rocks, but hostels and budget accommodation are lacking. Luckily, the main hostel in the Rocks, the Sydney Harbour YHA, is a beauty and can fulfill your every hostel need on its own. Seriously, this hostel is one of my top recommended places to stay in the city for those looking to stay in the heart of it all, but at a budget price. I even mention this place when talking about quality budget eats, sleeps and drinks in Sydney.

To go on further about the historical aspect of the Rocks, it is good to point out that even the level underneath the YHA is dedicated to being an archaeological dig, a feature that is well-advertised (you’ll see when you arrive).
